TOUR “BAIKAL.SUMMER” FOR 4 DAYS
The Tazheran Steppes are not only a geological wonder with rare minerals, but also a habitat for unique wildlife and plants. It is a humbling place, where one can be small and insignificant next to the presence of the mighty and harsh Baikal power. Those who have been to the steppes know how it feels, but it’s something that must be experienced firsthand. It’s a brief but eventful tour that explores the vast steppes of Priolkhoniye and features views of the beautiful shores of Lake Baikal from the water, including desert islands and mysterious grottoes of the Maloe More.
ROUTE ITINERARY: Irkutsk city – Maloe More (the Small Sea) – The Tazheran Steppes – Irkutsk city.
What’ll we do?

Day 1, ROAD TOUR:
Meet at an airport or hotel, having coffee and heading to Lake Baikal. Along the way, travelers will see “places of power” where they traditionally stop to rest and ask for a safe journey. The first of these places is the Reindeer at the border of the Bayandayevsky district, followed by the mighty Eagle, guardian of the Tazheran Steppes.
Accommodation at a comfortable holiday base situated by the shore of Lake Baikal in separate, well-equipped houses. Enjoy local cuisine and relax on the beach during sunset before going to explore Lake Baikal the next day.

DAY 2, SEA VOYAGE
We plan to go on a comfortable yacht ride through the Small Sea to see various features from the water, including the hills of the Primorsky Ridge, cozy tiny bays with soft sand as well as the harsh high shores of Olkhon Island. The excursion is being taken after having enjoyed morning meal at lake Baikal.
Visit a deserted island called “Ogoy” and spend time at a Buddhist stupa of Enlightenment to find inner peace. The locals guard a source of tranquility that people from neighboring villages and all over the world aspire to go. In addition, there may be an optional Russian banya or sauna available in the evening, but it comes at an extra cost.

DAY 3, STEPPES
The Tazheran Steppes are a unique geological landmark in Priolkhonie that is estimated to be 300-400 million years old. The steppes cover 35 km from the Anga River to the Olkhon Gates. Visitors can explore the area by off-road vehicle and see the Tan-Khan peak and the Valley of Stone Spirits, where the Baikal winds have created strange creatures in the rocks. During the summer, the steppes are covered in various plants, including clover, sorrel, and edelweiss, and fill the air with the scent of heather.
Visitors should remember to be respectful and leave the Tazheran spirits to rest from human activity.
