NEW YEAR HOLIDAY TO LAKE BAIKAL
What’ll we do?

DAY 1:
The plan is to meet at the airport (train station – hotel – another agreed location), head out on a trip to the shore of Lake Baikal, which is about 250 kilometers away. Along the way, make stops at sacred places and take some cool photos of the lake. Upon arrival, we’ll stay at a comfortable holiday base with warm houses that can accommodate 2-3 people with private ensuite facilities. Enjoy delicious local food for lunch and take some time to relax before going for a walk.

DAY 2:
Traveling on fresh, transparent ice of Lake Baikal using a hovercraft called “Khivus.” Skating is also an option, and a rental service is available (check the availability of sizes in advance). The experience promises stunning views of the depths beneath the ice, as well as enjoy the beautiful, vast expanse of the while observing ice cracks, caves and intricate ice formations. There are also various locations for memorable photos! Besides, we plan to visit to different locations, including Ogoy island to see the Great Buddhist Stupa of Enlightenment and a dragon-shaped rock called the Fang or Tail of the Dragon. We’ll visit Khuzhir village on Olkhon Island to climb the local holy site, Cape Burkhan, also known as the Shaman’s Rock or the “place of power” for the local population. They will also observe the Sacred Shamanic Pillars known as Serge.

Day 3:
In the morning we will relax, and closer to lunch we will go on an ice adventure in search of magical methane bubbles. As a final touch to the trip, we will take a walk in a marble quarry. In the evening, we will return to Irkutsk.
